If I had my way, all the paranormal romance books I love would turn into awesome Hollywood blockbusters. Casting is key, if only I had Spielberg on speed dial to cast my favorite alpha male characters for the big screen. These are the top 7 male characters from my favorite books and the hawt actors who should play them in real life. It will be so much easier when I can hit pause and drool incessantly.

7. Jerrico Barrons: Gerald Butler including the abs from 300. He’s got the accent and sex appeal

6. Eidolon: Dr. 90210? Just kidding, I think George Clooney should hands down play the sexy doctor!

5. Cadeon Woede: Chris Pines, Star Trek hottie, add a British accent he has the cocky attitude and good looks!
Kresley Cole’s IAD Series

4. Revhenge:Johnny Deep, he can literally play any character, CGI in some muscles, dress him in purple, add a cane, ta-da he is my version of Revhenge. My choice for the Spanish Rev Javier Bardem.

3. Devyn:Colin Farell plus glitter
Gena Showalter’s Seduce the Darkness

2. Zadist:Marcus(Sam Worthington) from Terminator Salvation, put a few scars on him, hide the Australian accent and he is my perfect Zadist.

1. Acheron: This one is tough because it’s Acheron for God’s sake. Vince Vaghn is tall, but lacks the crazy sex appeal, after much deliberation I had to think outside the box and settled on Jared Leto. Remove the black eyeliner, add a few feet for height, add some kick ass goth boots, and you’ve got the intense gaze of Acheron in my opinion.

God this has been bothering me for-ev-er (enter Smalls from Sandlot). I started reading Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Bureau of American Defenseseries a few years ago. The series is a little meah, definitely not as good as her Dark Hunter series, but then what is a series without Achreon? Such a hard act to follow. If you follow me on twitter I mentioned I was “on the fence” for quite awhile about Phantoms of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon AND Diana Love. Hence, the yearlong indesivicness.   First the whole co-author threw me for a loop, was I buying Sherrilyn Kenyon or Diana Love with SK’s name on the cover? Was this even part of Kenyon’s B.A.D series…? Why the heck is SH not writing her own books?

Mystery solved, tweeples. With a little help from Google, I found that Sherrilyn Kenyon will be co-authoring with
Diana Love for the rest of B.A.D series, although this could change, *ahem hopefully we’ll get an FYI next time.    Apparently SK felt she wasn’t ‘doing this series justice’ and enlisted fellow tour buddy Diana Love to help write B.A.D suspense series. It did not mention if Diana Love will be writing ALL the future BAD books, although she already has another one out “Whispered Lies” Carlos story. I’m getting a pretty strong feeling she will be co-writing more.

I’ll start off with saying this is not a bad book, it’s just not Sherrilyn Kenyon. I could feel SK’s presence in certain parts, but for the most part the book reads like a new series and without Sherrilyn Kenyon’s writing style. I’ve come across Diana Love’s short stories in anthologies and she is not a bad writer; given some time I think she could be quite good.

Phantoms of the Night is ‘supposedly’ a continuation of the Bureau of American Defence series. Scratching my head in confusion. I really don’t remember “Terri Mitchell” mentioned in previous B.A.D books and if she was it was too brief and forgettable. I would have liked a little more 411 continuity from her last book to this new one *shrugs. Anyway this is her story with sexy phantom hottie Nathan Drake.

“Drawn deep in to an evil underbelly that cuts across all levels of society, two people who have no reason to trust, must trust in each other or die. And if Terri and Nathan die, a deadly attack will be unleached on thousands of innocent people.”

Truly I feel a little bit lighter getting to the bottom of this Sherrilyn Kenyon mystery! I’ll be picking up “Whispered Lies” , due to my highly curious nature and my obsessive compulsive disorder, I have to read every book in the series! How do you feel about this shift change?

Sherrilyn Kenyon, Why We Will Still Buy her ‘Schemmy’ Books

Ok her latest releases after Achreon, well let’s be honest, kind of deserve a schemmy (to steal a Kathy Griffin-ism). Understandably, anything after Acheron is going to be a bit of a let down, but come on, no more ‘filler’ books!! Her latest release Dream Warrior, was not bad; it was no Night Play, (Vane and Bride’s Story), but still an entertaining read. The story lacked her usual writing ‘awesomeness’ and for me, the Dream Warriors/Hunter’s are my least favorite characters out of her series. They seem to have been developed as interim characters lacking any real depth or relevance to her overall storyline. I was most disappointed with Fury’s story as he was ripped off. Fury deserved a full novel! His short story lacked a real connection to the overall storyline, with a lackluster female lead that was quite forgettable. However, aside from the above criticisms her books are ALWAYS well done and have a fluidity of re-introducing past characters and keeping them ‘in character’.

Sherrilyn Kenyon despite her recent ‘schemmies’, is still a wonderful writer. Her latest releases are not bad by any means, I think they just lack her usual above par writing. As an avid fan I just have come to expect more from such a creative writer. I will remain as always, a loyal fan and would pick up anything with her name attached to it. She writes a damn good story, and her series is one that you can read and re-read and it still stand the test of time without seeming ‘dated’ or lacking the original creativity of the first read. Ms. Kenyon remains in my ‘fav five’ and I look forward to her releases.

My Sherrilyn Kenyon Wish List

I want another book for Tory and Archeron! The 2nd half of Archeron just didn’t do it for me and I wanted to know more about their relationship. Hopefully, they will be featured a bit more in the stories to follow.

Watch out for Bad Moon rising releasing August 4th, it’s Amy and Fang’s story, finally!!
