The super-funny, wicked, and divalicious Jaymzangel tagged for me this m/m meme.  First off, I am honored and damn if this meme didn’t put a grin on my face. I’ve been reading these wonderfully funny m/m memes all week! 

Questions:

1. How long have you been reading GLBTQ fiction? Mandi from Smexybooks helped me loose my m/m virginity about 6 months ago.  Where is my six month anniversary cake?! Although, to be honest, I was reading m/f/m and f/f/f for about 3 years.

2. What was the first book you read in this genre? Ok, I’m going to level with everyone. In college I took a sexual literacy class (I know!) And for 3 credits I could read about sex,  it was the best A I ever earned. I read Nancy Friday’s eye opening series and Anne Rice ‘s Beauty series – this is also where my BDSM issues came in to play. Long story short, this rather robust, young gal came in with all sorts of plastic scariness and ruined BDSM for me forever …well, until a few weeks ago.

3. Are you ‘out’ as a reader? Yes and no. To my family and twitter friends absolutely. Do I have a pic of m/m kissing on my work computer, ah, no. Do I send m/m reading recs to my ubber Christian cousins, can’t say that I will.  Poor things would probably die from shock.

4. Ebooks, print or both? Depends on the length of the book and cost. WHY erotica is so expensive is beyond me. A lot of my m/m books are in ebook format due to the cost and my instant gratification tendencies.

5. Do you buy direct from publishers or from secondary sellers? This feels like a quiz. Um… yes to both?

6. Prove you’re a Book Slut. How many books would you say you buy a week? I am a total book slut. I waited 2 weeks to get my hair dyed just so I could buy more books. Who does that? I buy/download at least a book or two a week .  I have to have something to read everyday.  I purposely spread  out my book buying so hubs doesn’t get suspicious of how much I’m spending. Between you and me, I have an offshore bank account in the Caymen Islands just for my books.

7. Are you a cover, blurb or excerpt buyer? I’m such a cover hoe.  Although the excerpt has to be good too! Blurbs don’t do it for me unless written by a blogger and not the publisher.

 8. Yeah, you read reviews, but do you actually take notice of them? I love reading reviews!  Since I’m relatively new to m/m romance I really look to fellow bloggers to pimp out new books not on my gadar, er,… I mean radar. 

 9. Who’s your fave publisher? Since I’ve been a long time downloader from Ellora’s Cave I would have to go with them. Although, it doesn’t really matter.  If I like it I WILL FIND IT!!!!

10. What about authors? Your top two only!! Surprisingly no author comes to mind…I think I’m having an aspartame memory loss situation going on here. Damn you Diet Coke!

11. Is there a sub-genre you particularly dis/like? Sheesh, pop quiz. Uh no, not really, I liked all the m/m books I’ve read to date. Although I prefer paranormal, cause boys kissing boys + action= a happy Smokin’ Hot Girl.

 12. Short or long?? *rolls eyes* And, no, I’m not talking about cocks. *shakes head* sorry you said c*cks and I had a little daydream moment. I prefer no more than 250 pages, don’t ask me why ‘cause I just picked this number to seem cool. No, I kid. Since I read a lot of ebooks I tend to like shorter stories. 

13. Anything turn you off about m/m or is all just glorious smut to you? My Smut pet peeve is when the book is all sex and no plot. Hello, if I wanted to only read about sex I’d turn on Skinamax and call it a night.

 14. Finish this sentence. You know it’s m/m twu wuv when… my toes curl and I’m screaming damn you Josh just kiss the hell out of him. Then I start quoting ,“love means never having to say your sorry. “

15. What trope or theme are you heartily sick of in m/m romance? I love it all.  Every m/m story is still new to me, so I’m not sick of anything yet.

16. If you could choose any 3 characters for an m/m/m who would they be? 3? Seriously? Uh ok, I’d have to go with J.R. Ward’s Qhuinn, Blay and Lassister {cause he has piercings and I find that sexy}

17. What new GLBTQ release are you most hanging out for right now? I’m with J on this one ~if they do get their own book, Qhuinn & Blay

18. What GLBTQ book has completely blown you away this year? I can’t pick just one.

19. What do you think we’ll see more of in m/m romance in 2010?  Perhaps more fantasy, suspense and other popular romance genres, keep your fingers cross for paranormal and sci-fi. 

20. Don’t you agree that author Josh Lanyon should kill off arsehole character Jake Riordan? Is this a trick question? Well I like arseholes and bad boys so I say, keep him.
