I have an announcement, KC the most awesomest part of the Smokin’ (K-Khan growls) is PG. Preggers. Knocked Up. This is a pretty BFD in the Smokinhotbooks household, as this is baby numero uno and he better do something great like fix our healthcare system or something.
Never in my adult life have I felt weirder than I have in the past three months. This constantly eating every two hours has made me a stalker at my local Trader Joes. Being denied multiple cups of coffee, diet coke, and fun food makes me a tad envious as I drive by my favorite Starbucks. But other than the Hives, morning sickness, not being able to sleep on my stomach; I feel pretty darn good.

Send hubs out to buy me J.R. Ward’s latest BDB book while I’m in the delivery room

As KC is now in her second trimester (and apparently referring to herself in the third person) there will be more posts and off the wall book reviews.

Congratulations!! That’s *amazing* news – SO exciting! As for name… I actually like Baby Smokin’
LOL I was thinking more for the name that you would call baby on the blog – not in real life.
What my hubby and I did for both babies: We took 1 (and only 1) baby name book, got a sheet of paper and looked through an alphabet letter a night and wrote down the names we liked. We didn’t share until after we’d reached the letter Z. Then we switched papers and crossed off whatever we didn’t like from the other person’s list. When that was done we had a list of what was left over and chose from those names. It sounds tedious but it was actually pretty fun. It was interesting too, because I’d see a name on his list that I had put on my own but for some reason didn’t like it in his writing and crossed it off! lol I know, I’m a freak. But we got great baby names from this so I highly recommend it.
However you choose the name – make it fun!
OMG– How Wonderful!! Hope you are past the bad initial weeks. I haven’t had to make such an announcement for a lot of years, but I remember that we had names all picked out for the first three–mostly family names or forms thereof, and then we found out that #4 had sneaked up on us and we had no names chosen. So about two days before my labor was scheduled to be induced, hubby and I just had a “throw out a name and see if you like it” kind of marathon. Took about 7 hours until we found a combination we liked. As it was a girl–Tracy Rae–we chucked the boy’s name and I don’t even remember what it was not. Funny how you remember some stuff and forget others. We’ll be sending warm and healthy thoughts your way in the days and months to come.

KC – Men can be right bastards when it comes to baby names and getting what they want! lol My hubby was gunning for Brittany with our first. Now there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that name but at the time I knew 4 of them – all children, and all horrible brats. I just wasn’t going there. lol (Don’t think that name wasn’t printed on his list though and it got a big fat red line through it.)
