Smokinhotbooks Says No Time for Bloggy Must Finish City of Ghosts!!! (K-Khan)

Smokinhotbooks *coughs Mrs.K * has no time for her bloggy because Stacia Kane’s City of Ghosts is so good that she just has to finish it tonight! Yes, I risked the threat of termination because COG is so good that I had to sneak in a few chapters in at work. My fingers couldn’t click fast enough on my kindle, and my 10 minute break was turning more into 20. But I couldn’t resist. Code name ‘Terrible Naughtytime Tunnels’, need I say more.
I’m sorry but that’s all the information I can give out at this point. My kindle says I am at 73% and I’m already feeling sad that I have less than half the book to go. This is by far the best book of the series yet and so much has happened I felt the need to ‘take a knee’, gather my team around me before we break and get back to the game.
So, sorry to cut and run but Chess just got her ass kicked by some bad juju magic, Terrible has just walked onto the scene with someone who ISN’T Chess and something’s up with those creepy Lamaru peeps. I’ve already decided that if I have to camp out with a flashlight under the covers so as to not disturb the hubster then so be it! I will NOT go to bed until I know how the story ends! I may be a walking zombie tomorrow but god dammit all, it will have been worth it! (Pumps fist in the air). I expect to hear how everyone is just as obsessed as I am. Any volunteers to be a Starbucks runner? I promise to take the 3:00 slump shift and bring back ices lattes for everyone. Whose with me?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I”m reading His At Night by Sherry Thomas, and I adore it! I loved Not Quite a Husband, but this book is its polar opposite. Quite funny, much less angsty and a sublime reading experience. I’m all atwitter over it!
OH MY GOD you are approaching a VERY HOT SCENE RIGHT NOW. AAAAAHHH I am so excited for you to finish. Go Go Go!!! I had to re-read the end chapter like 3 times because I wanted more, you will LOVE!

@Pam if I could pick one scene it would have to be the bathroom scene. I got so flushed I had to turn on my ceiling fan to cool off. This book is absolutely perfect.

@ KC – ME TOO. The entire bar scene, how it’s built up, then how it ends…. inc the car ride afterwords. My heart just couldn’t handle it, thumping right out of my chest.
I finished in a day! I tried to read it slowly but couldn’t do it, I wanted it to last forever…
I laugh so much with the car scene after the bar, it was just so funny, specially after such a steamy scene at the bar. :dreaming of Terrible things:
I did the same thing, KC. Once I made it to the tunnel with Terrible, there was no stopping me finishing that book. Just thinking about the book today makes me warm.
The last third was just, wow after wow. Still just keep grinning when I think about him calling her Chessiebomb.
While I hate that we have to wait until fall 2011 for the next book, that ending gave me closure — though I wouldn’t have minded an epilogue scene with a bed. Just saying…

@Chelsea (Vampire Book Club) LMAO a sexy time epilogue I down with that. I’m with you, I felt we got closure in this one no sudden cliffhangers it just felt like when actors say “and scene” *mimics hand gesture*. COG made of awesome!

I’m reading COG now and trying really hard not to neglect my family while I read. I am trying, I swear.
@KC – My husband actually told his friends that when he came home the day City of Ghosts came out he was invisible. After telling me this, he followed it up with “but it was really cute how excited you were.” LOL. Poor guy.

Hmm, see I started COG and felt it was horrendously slow and put it down but now, youse are all making me want to pick it up again. Dammit! Off to start again!
You are too funny:) I meant to start this one earlier in the week but things kept getting in the way, I should have done a post like this! I think part of me didn’t want to start it because then I would have to finish it and I don’t want to be without Terrible until 2011:( Can’t wait to read your full review!

Don’t you hate that feeling… when you see that you are more than 50% done with a good book and realize it’ll be over too quickly. Or when you go on vacation and you hit that midway point and know you have less time left than you’ve been there already. *sigh*
I JUST started Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Yes, I’m a bit behind, but I’m finally getting there.
Hey! I am nearly finished it now and I am LOVING the ever lovin s**t out of this book.
I figured out that it wasn’t slow, I just wanted more Chess/Terrible stuff in it at the start. But yeah, hit both the tunnels and the bathroom now and what can I say? I am seriously in love with Terrible. I mean, he’s being a dick and all but I can totally understand why and I feel for him and at the same time I feel bad for Chess and completely feel for her too.
But I love Terrible. Have I said that? Srsly In.Love.With.Terrible.
I think he has just catapulted his way to the top of my favourite hero of all time list. Until infinity. Times a hundred.
Ohhhh KC, I do hope you survive finshing up that book..
I do know that feeling however, of just wanting to know how a book ends – but dreading getting to the last page..
