As some of you may know, I love KC for many, many reasons. The greatest among them? Our mutual love for Jaid Black. Who is Jaid Black, you say? *gasp and sputter* You don’t know the mighty charms of Jaid Black and her underground dwelling, wife stealing Viking Warlords? Or her mighty alien kings who have the stamina of and are hung like a water buffalo on viagra? Egads! Well, let me tell you ALL about it my friends……

How can you not love a book with a cover like this?

It’s fabulous, is it not?! You know there is going to be shameless sexorin and unapologetically alpha men in that thar book. And there is! There’s capture and orgies with alien chicks that have boobies the size of small dirigibles and men hung like oxen and have the sex drive of an energizer bunny of speed. There’s cavemen antics meets futuristic sci fi……it’s like Conan in space….only FABULOUS! And never fear my loves……there is a whole series of these books at Ellora’s Cave. Go. Seek. Devour. I shall never judge you ill for your love of Jaid Black. Nevah.

And of course, the piece de resistance (I had to google that, shhh…don’t tell anyone), and my personal fave series by her. Drum roll please *flashes to Clark Griswold in Christmas Vacation and sings JOY TO THE WORLD…)………….

The awesomeness that is her underground dwelling, muscle bound, bride stealing, Viking Warlords! Squeeeee!

These are a series, a couple of which are novellas found in anthologies like the one above (which is fab ’cause you also get Kresley Cole vamp/valkyrie hawtness!), and at least one is a novel all on it’s own. These are so great! They are pure and total naughty fantasy indulgence. If you’re going to put your feminist cap on and if you’re going to be bothered by piddling things like “reality” then please don’t read these. Don’t ruin the fun for the rest of us. *sticks out tongue like a 5 y.o. with pigtails*
These men are big and strong warriors that melt like dripping candle wax for their true love. And they are animals in the sack. *fans self* I LOVE IT AND I’M NOT ASHAMED!! *sobs*

I don’t know what it is about Ms. Black that I can’t resist. I put up with tropes and writing issues and insane suspension of reality, morals and personal no no space, that I would never put up with from another author. I can’t help it, she’s my crack. If loving her and her muscle bound animalistic heroes is wrong, then I don’t want to be right!

I know I can’t be the only snarky, modern, level headed woman that has a special weakness for certain books that I probably shouldn’t. So ‘fess up y’all and let me know I’m not alone (besides KC). What books or what author do you find you love even though all reason says you shouldn’t? What series can you just not quit even though you know you should break up, but you just can’t quit him/her/them? Tell B and Smokin all about it. You’ll feel better, I promise. *crosses legs, pushes up glasses and prepares to take notes*
