Book given to me by author for review

As one of the oldest surviving vampire hunters in the Foundation, Lana has learned the toughest lesson: success comes at a price. So while the yummy stranger she bumps into at Caesar’s trips all her temptation switches, duty comes first.   Better to be alone than to gamble with someone else’s heart—or her own.   Although maybe a one-night stand won’t hurt…

Byron has set a one-way course for revenge against the Vegas vampire who murdered his uncle. When he collides with Lana, though, her scent calls to him like a potent aphrodisiac. The only explanation: she’s his true-mate.   And the timing couldn’t be worse. He can’t afford any distractions—not to mention it’ll be hell convincing her to love someone who sprouts fur and fangs every full moon.

Every once in awhile I loose my reading mojo and sometimes …I tweet about it.  Okay fine, I also Facebook-it.  The author was nice enough to send me a sexy paranormal to lift my sprits.

Byron first meets Lana while she is waitressing at a casino. The perfect job is scope out vamps to kill. Before Byron can ask for Lana’s number, she storms off to stop a cougar (I mean the Demi Moore kind, not the animal) from being fanged to death.  Byron follows after her intrigued by the sparks between then and her scent.

Lana doesn’t need complications; her job doesn’t exactly leave a lot of room for romance and certainly not a wanna-be vigilante named Byron.

Byron watched the woman disappear into the crowd, too stunned to move. For years he’d dismissed the myth of predestined mates as a bunch of mumo jumbo his uncle told him to keep from screwing anything with a pulse.

Then he inhaled her scent.

Although I didn’t think Heart of a Huntress brought anything new to the vampire and predestined mate table, I was still able to enjoy the writing and plot.  I actually liked that Heart of a Huntress didn’t try to inject pages and pages of world building and instead it focused on the story as it pertained to Lana and Byron. Which in turn added to the suspense of the book and created a fast- pace read.

Final Verdict:  If you can’t get enough of all things paranormal romance and you’re an e-book junkie then you’ll like Heart of a Huntress. The author delivers an entertaining; quick read that is perfect to add to your monthly e-book, download fix!

  7. I hate the reading slump blues too, KC, but fortunately I’ve been scoring lately with my reads.

I love the whole predestined mate plot. It adds good spice especially if the hero or heroine is reluctant to commit. Awe, such exquisite tension!

    Thanks for the recommendation!
