Only 4 More Days Left in Our Male Male Romance Adventure and then I’m back to succubus and a smart ass librarian who has fangs. This will be my last Man Love post for awhile (blows into hankie), what did you guys think of Smokinhot’s Male Male Celebration? Thumbs up… down…, wait are you guys giving me the finger?

JL Langley The Queen of Male Steam

One author that really sticks out for sexier male male romance is JL Langley.  I’ve read almost all her books and each one pulls you in  and has you wishing to experience the story all over again.  And dammit it all to hades if I haven’t stayed up till past my bedtime to finish almost every JL book I’ve downloaded .

Excerpt

James Killian learns the hard way that smaller towns are full of bigots. When he comes out to his father he is not only kicked out of his home but off the Quadruple J where he works as the ranch foreman. With nowhere to go and little money, his savior comes in the unlikely form of his older brother’s best friend, the man he’s been in love with for over half his life.

            Scene Pic
”Ethan knew it was a bad idea, but he just had to taste that sensual mouth. He leaned forward, his lips lightly brushing Jaime’s.   Jamie gasped, and before Ethan knew what hit him    Jaime had taken over, his mouth crushing his, tongue pushing for entrance. He grabbed Ethan’s face with both hands and urgently pressed his body against Ethan’s or as near to it as he could get with them both still sitting. He was rough, aggressive, practically swallowing Ethan up as his tongue searched and caressed every bit of Ethan’s mouth. finally, he calmed down a little, gentling the kiss, and Ethan had the chance to kiss him back at last. Jaime;s hands slid to his shoulders. Their tongues met and parried. It was like making slow and easy love. Jaime moaned.”

Cowboys, werewolves and regency erotica, oh my! For those looking for some of the best male on male action JL. Langley is your woman!  I suggest beginning with her ranch series because come on, who doesn’t love rugged cowboys finding love in the most unexpected places. Um, can I get a hells yeah! I first fell in lust with Tin Star where we meet the down on his luck Jaime Killian who has just outed himself to his not so happy father. Disowned and with no place to go his brother’s friend Ethan Whitehall takes him in and gives him a job.

Langley’s ability to build character tension while still keeping the story interesting is top notch. Too many erotica books follow the formulaic pattern of just raw, hard core sex, with their being little substance as to the actual story. I’m all for the s-e-x, but i also want it to have some meaning. If you’re like us and can’t get enough of Ms. Langley, then I highly suggest her sci-regency and with or without series. I would place Langley as one of my top favorite male erotica authors and highly, highly recommend her! So if you’re in the mood for some hot alpha male on alpha male action then don’t miss this series! No, Ms. Langley, I cannot quit you.

Rating

I give my stamp of sexy approval to the below JL Langley titles. I’ve purchased and read all the books seen below!

Broken H (2nd in Ranch Series) – This one has such a tender relationship between Grayson and Shane it made my heart go “awwww”. Ebook Purchase from Loose Id

My Fair Captain – Although I prefer my male romance heros to be older, JL does such an amazing job with her Sci-Regency series. She writes an interesting twist –  instead of the virginal females being protected it is the young (prince) virgin males. I absolutely adored this book and Englor Affair (Book 2) Kindle or  Ebook From Samhain

Englor Affair (Book 2 in Sci-Fi Regency Series – Kindle or Ebook from Samhain

Without Reservations (Book 1 in With or Without Series) – This is her shifter paranormal series.  Although I’m not a fan of shifter male male romances, I thought this was a solid good read. This book has an interesting twist, usually the males find female human mates in regular erotica land, except in this series, Chay who isn’t gay,  finds out his mate is another man. A great twist done in usual sexy JL fashion. Kindle or Ebook from Samhain

  5. @Sparkly I love to make my own book boyfriend!!

@EH I liked Without Reservations but I really enjoyed JL’s Ranch and Sci-fi series a little more. OMG now I will definitely add With Caution to my Friday night TBR pile.

  6. Definitely a thumbs up and I’m sad that it comes to an end *blows into hankie too*
I have you to thank for recommending J.L. Langley’s books to me. And I’m loving her writing! I felt the same about The Broken H :)

  7. @Janna Didn’t you think the ending in Tin Star was cute? My next JL book will be With Caution, I just can’t get enough of her these days.

  8. I still haven’t read any m/m romances yet. If I ever finally take the plunge, I’ll have to keep this author in mind.

  9. Oh, I just love Tin Star! JLL writes characters that I find myself thinking about even when I’m not reading the book. Jamie and Ethan are so wonderfully written.

My first m/m was With Caution, which I had won over at DIK. And, boy that first scene alone sort of blew the doors off my virgin m/m eyes! lol (I know I’m mixing my metaphors, but you know what I mean. ;-) )

I’m just dying for Sterling to grow up a little more so we can get the rest of his story!

  10. Lol, so you’re trying out the With or Without werewolves? Last Friday on Twitter you were still having second thoughts about them, remember? *wink*
I’m looking forward to your take on this series!
And I think it’s cute how you devour all the books of a new to you author in a short time after discovering him/her :D I wish I had some of your perseverance to do that…

  11. @Colette JL can be a bit steamy so if you ever want to take the plunge Josh Lanyon and LB Gregg are not so erotic.

@Renee I’m reading With Caution right now, I love the twists JL writes for this series! I really want to read Resley’s story from her Sci-fi regency series, his mate has to grow up too.

@Janna I do believe I’ve devoured almost all her books. I met up with some other So-Cal bloggers last weekend and they mentioned how awesome JL’s With or Without series was. I got home and downloaded Without Reservations. I think you’ll really like this series.

  12. I’ve read two J.L Langley books and they just weren’t for me. I’ve heard such great things it really makes me wonder what I’m missing though. Perhaps I’ll give the cowboys a go. :)

  13. @Fiction Vixen what JL books have you read? I know My Fair Captain right? Do you feel the author is too erotic? I felt Grey’s Awakening was a little too smutty for me *cue gasp sound* in JL’s Englor Affair she try’s to make the jock strap sexy and I just couldn’t go “there”.

  14. I read My Fair Captain and His Convenient Husband. They weren’t too smutty for me at all. They just weren’t my thing. I’ll give the cowboys a go though.

  15. Okay, I downloaded the complete With or Without series at once :D Can’t wait now to start it. But first I have to finish bk 2 of Lanyon’s Adrien English mysteries! I’m really hoping for some smut after the lack of it in bk 1 ;) If there isn’t any again, I’m switching to J.L. Langley immediately *g*

  16. @Fiction Vixen: I think you’ll like the cowboys, they were hot but sweet imo. :)

  17. Oh Janna, I like hot sweet emo, it gets me every time :) Plus, I have a new found love of cowboys. Who would have tought? LOL

  18. LOL, FV! I know what you mean :) The cowboys were my first love actually *sigh* I discovered the new to me genre of erotic romance because I accidentally picked up one of Lorelei James’ Rough Riders books. You probably know them, if not, you def should give them a try. She’s very inventive in plotting & super steamy! (btw none of them are M/M so far).

  19. @FV maybe you are not a JL girl, s’ okay I still like you.

@Janna ::cough cough:: there is certain scene with sun block lotion in Adrien English book 2 and that’s all I’m going to say. P.S. I’m not a Lorelei James fan girl just can’t get into her books.

  20. *g* I so needed that little piece of information :) I’m already halfway the book and still not even a kiss!!! *sigh*
Well, it’s okay that you’re not a Lorelei James girl, I still like you (to steal your own words ;) ), lol!

  21. LOL I heart you Janna. :)

  22. Awww, *blinks eyes*, me too :)
