Lax.
That was the initial conclusion enigmatic security specialist Max Douglas had drawn of Michael “Finn” Finnegan—Dalton Prep’s beloved English teacher. When Max arrives at Smithfield’s exclusive boarding school to protect a high profile student against a mysterious stalker, he’s hell bent on enforcing his style of leadership on students and teachers alike. Warring tempers turn to passionate lovemaking between the former marine and the easy going drama coach. But danger is closer than either man expects and all too quickly violence rocks the homey campus—putting both men at risk.

Best Scene Evah!!!!
Can I F*ck You? {Max says to Finn}

(Finn) And like the good teacher I was I said in a sexy whisper “I don’t know can you?”

Finn is a teacher who is tutoring Max’s younger step brother. Attracted to Max, he initiates ::cough:: the man love in Max’s office and might I add one of the hottest scenes of the story.  He learns after the post coital bliss wears off, that Max actually didn’t want to “talk to him” he wanted to fire him, humiliated Finn leaves hoping to never set eyes on sexy Max. Only, his match-making brother has other ideas.  Forced to work together at Finn’s school where he teaches, Max has to guard a student from a potential stalker.

I could go on and on  how ‘in hearts’ (a phrase my mother says) I am with Cover Me. Finn is hilarious and the sexual tension with Max is enough to have you opening your windows to cool you off.  I really like how LB Gregg writes her male characters, I find that I’m attracted to stories where the author writes the male heroes as well… guys.  Plus the witty dialogue easily makes Cover Me my all time favorite reads for male male romance.

Final Verdict:  If you’ve read Gobsmack, Cover Me is right up there with lol moments, characters you  can connect with and hot man love scenes.  This is a great read for those looking for more of a story vs erotic male romance.

  1. Cover Me is my favourite of LB’s Men of Smithfield series. Great characters and writing. Very cool. :D

  2. @Kris I actually like Cover Me a tad more than Gobsmack. Tough choice is the bathroom scene in Gobsmack hotter than office scene in Cover Me?

  3. I’ve read the first two Men of Smithfield books – I’ve got to get this one. The plot sounds good and the excerpts I’ve seen leave me wanting more!

  4. @Patti I’m ooo-ing over your new avi, verra nice. I’m not sure why but I liked Cover Me more than Gobsmack, although the main character isn’t as funny, I liked the relationship more between Max and Finn.

  5. Toaster moment – need I say more….

    Toaster moment…

    E.H>

  6. Office scene is hotter – say on the desk, say on the desk – put your hands on the desk. SWOON! I love that Max goes for it in the office. And then he is the one that seeks out Finn at school.

Toaster scene is hilarious in this one :)

  7. Okay… will be getting me some Gregg books soon… very soon… promise.
Damn you evil women!!!!! LOL!!! Pure evil to my bank account!! =)

  8. @EH Oh I loved that part (dresses up like a toaster for Halloween).

@Mandi really office scene is hotter? When Finn was having his internal dialogue ::shiver:: and then Max takes him on the desk ::swoon::

@Cecile ::bats eyes:: moi? Iz not evil *bwuahahahahaha*

  9. I love Finn’s “go for it” attitude in the office. Finn and Max’s chemistry was great in this one! I can’t wait for LB’s Men of Smithfield 4, In and Out.

  10. @Renee I’m counting down the days until LB Gregg’s In and Out. I can’t wait for March!!!

  11. What? In and Out? Is there another one coming out? I was already so happy with Catch Me if You Can, but two new releases?! That’s great!

  13. @Janna YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I believe it’s coming out in March with Samhein publishing…it’s still with the Smithfield series. Wait. I may be wrong I think Catch Me if You Can is out in March I might have gotten the title wrongs ::sheepish grin::

@KV girl you need to read Cover Me! Honestly, have a beer, put on the telly and read it. So good.

  14. Yikes! That would be humiliating to initiate a bout of fabulous sex with your boss only to be fired afterwards. Not cool.

    Hugs, VFG

  15. @VFG The office intimate scene is so sexy, but Finn is such a great character. He is fun and very carefree, while Max is more stern and muy sexy. When he finds out that Max was going to fire him right after…classic he left his socks behind.

  16. I’ve only read one Gregg book. Looks like I need to get busy huh?

  17. @FV if you lurved Gobsmack, Cover Me is just a good. I actually liked Cover Me out of the two because Finn and Max’s relationship dynamic.

  18. LB is the reason I started reading MM romance, even before she started publisher. Hot sexy men… le sigh.
