After a rather painful snowboarding trip *cough* where I proceeded to hang onto dear life on the ski lift, while the ski people were shouting for me to let go. I let go about 2 feet off the ground where I collapsed in an awkward heap. I then proceeded to take the lift BY MYSELF… hiccuping, with tears in my eyes. As I go to the top I started shouting at my husband, “this is my second time and you left me *sobs*. I can be very dramatic at times. So I’m keeping this post short and sweet as I still don’t have any feeling in my bum FY to the I.
In keeping my new years resolution… I’m on the manhunt of the male/male romance type. As I lay on the couch feeling quite sorry for myself, I opened up my electronic mail box and wala this is what I found.
The Strongest Shape by Tessa Cardenas Given to me by Mandi aka Smexybooks for my Kindle’s coming out party. I’ve already read this book twice and plan in to sneak in another re-read in the near future, because, yes it is that good.
After his boyfriend breaks up with him, fashion photographer Caleb Moss finds himself alone in Los Angeles looking for work and friends. He finds both in a group of aspiring musicians, who offer help through their connections. But while building a strong friendship with Scott and Chris, a startling sexual tension flares to life among the three men, and Caleb is afraid the new friendships will fall apart.
It won’t be easy for Caleb, trying to find his way when Scott and Chris invite him into their relationship. They face criticism from their friends, but they’ll struggle to stay together because they have discovered a three-fold love. As the sexual heat between them escalates, all three are forced to make decisions having far-reaching ramifications. Sometimes choosing love is the hardest decision of all.
Happy Ending by LB Gregg The beginning massage scene made my toes curl, I did have some trouble connecting with Seth’s terse interaction with David, but LB Gregg pulls me in with her beautiful writing.
All Seth really wanted was a simple massage—was that too much to ask? When his usual therapist is replaced by a sexy young masseur, Seth finds himself obsessed with the unpredictable – and wholly inappropriate – David Cooke. Pushed to the breaking point by forces both mysterious and not so mysterious, Seth must lose his rigid control to find the happy ending both he and David deserve.
Gobsmakced by LB Gregg I’m 3% into this book and already I’m in love. Mark has just hit his ex lover with a bible…in church…wearing crocs.
No more Mr. Nice Guy.
Mild mannered Mark Meehan’s good judgment flies out the window when he finds his lover banging another man. Things go from bad to worse as Mark’s crazy revenge scheme uncovers shocking secrets—sending him straight into the arms of hunky lawman and old friend, Tony Gervase, a man of limited patience and secrets of his own.
Susie’s Choice by Barbar Elsborg {Ellora’s Cave Publishing} Technically this is a m/m/f
When lovers Christian and Joel advertise for a cleaner, they aren’t expecting—or wanting—Mrs. Doubtfire, although one of the applicants could double as Mrs. D’s sister. But when little Susie Hood walks into their lives, scraped knees from a tumble with her bike and with the looks and heart of a broken angel, the attraction is instant and irrevocable and it’s all they can do not to lock her up and throw away the key. They want her in their bed, their lives, now…forever… She is everything they wanted, needed—but she has to want both of them. Together, separately, in any and every combination they can think of.

Susie’s Choice..num num num!!!!! I haven’t heard of that one.
I heart the Men of Smithfield
LB Gregg always writes a really good first chapter…*cough*massage table*cough*
I remember reading Tessa Cardenas’ work on LJ – she is absolutely brilliant. I actually scheduled my day around when she would post her chapters!
@Mandi I stayed up till the wee hours of the morning to finish LB Gregg’s books. Dear god the massage scene *fans self*
@Kay I loved the Strongest Shape!!! As Mandi says how can I ever go back to reading about 2 dudes?
Oh my, a great set of books…
Start slowly and work your way up my dear – some will be clear winners, but let me warn you now, you are going to find a whole lot of tripe and even more porn…
But I am loving it all….
Enjoy hon…
*wipes tears from eyes* I’m sorry but I laughed too hard at your ski trip story. Sounds like me the first–and only–time I tried to ski. I ended up thrown off the slopes for cussing out the instructor. But I was good with it. Spent my day in the lodge drinking hot toddies!
Good luck on your search for gay romances. Sounds like you hit on some good ones!
“Mark has just hit his ex lover with a bible…in church…wearing crocs.”—That’s exactly where Gobsmacked hooked me! I loved that book.
I’m in tears here KC. Yes, I’m laughing. I’m sorry but I am. The visual of you dangling from the lift…I’m dying. I hope you feel better soon. hehe
@Erotic Horizon I will never download a m/m romance book without checking with my fellow blogger friends *shudder* I might have another Kate Douglas fiasco {looks at Fiction Vixen}
@Shayla Kersten I really wanted to be “that girl” who screams at the top of her lungs at her husband. It took all my willpower to hold off my tantrum
@Fiction Vixen you should have seen me lying in a heap IN FRONT OF EVERYONE…I couldn’t even “slide” my way out of way. I kept falling down, hiccuping, close to tears. Then my too tight snowboarding pants kept unsnapping & made me want to make yellow snow O_o
I’ve heard good things about Gobsmacked! I feel behind the times not having read anything in this genre before.
@colette if you got all hot and bother when Blay and Qhuinn kissed in J.R. Ward’s BDB books then you are good to go for a m/m book!
LOL, you drama queen!
That’s a great male/male box you had!
The Strongest Shape sounds delicious! And The Men of Smithfield, YUM! I was LOL all the time when reading Gobsmacked, Gregg is so witty!
I see you had a visit from Shayla Kersten, she writes the most wonderful M/M romances. A Helping Hand was my first by her, a 5 star read for me and after that I read quite some more of her books. If you haven’t read them yet, you should give them a try! Really!
@Janna yes I’m a bit of a drama queen, I think its hereditary. I finished Happy Ending but didn’t care for it as much as Strongest Shape or Gobsmack. Love love love Gobsmack!
I can be a DQ too sometimes, but I happen to love them *grin* cos I heart to giggle and laugh!
I have Happy Ending on my ereader too (that sounds so much better than on my tbr list – I’m so happy with the little thing) and also the third MOS book, Cover Me. Have you read that one too?
@Janna I’m so mad at myself I meant to purchase Cover me but accidentally clicked Happy Ending. If I could reach around and kick my own ass I would. Cover me sounds way better.
LOL, you already let that ski-lift kick your ass, so it’s better you can’t reach it
Susie’s Choice? Okay that one I so have to buy. Loved the Gobsmacked. Great book. So have to read more m/m this year!
Hope your bum gets better!
@Susi thanks for the well wishes for my bum. Susie’s Choice was okay I liked Strongest Shape and Gobsmack better.
