Etruscan werewolf Kyle is a loner. The king’s assassin with a killer’s instincts. When Tamra, battered but not broken, stumbles into his world and tumbles into his bed, she captures his heart. Plagued by nightmares. Stalked by kidnappers. Tamra McMillan needs a safe haven. Tattooed bad-ass Kyle Rossini steps into her life, the last thing she expects to find is a sanctuary from her demons. And nothing—not kidnappers or visions of his possible death— can keep Kyle from her.

This book was given to me for review by the author
When the author contacted me to review Kiss of Moonlight, my first thought was gimme. I’ve been a fan of Ellora’s Cave publishing for years and when I saw this book was about shifters, a little ecstasy murmur slipped out.
We first meet Kyle, a solemn werewolf, who happens to have an adorable teenage daughter named Cat. Cat in her werewolf form befriends lonely Tamara, her neighbor from a few doors down and empathizes with her need to connect with someone after a traumatic event. Tamara needs a place to escape. Beaten and running scared, she poors her heart and soul to what she thinks is an adorable stray dog.
This girl with her scarred heart, her abused body and mind and her total ignorance of the world he lived in was his. He didn’t have a rational explanation for how he knew it. He just did. And it wasn’t just lust. Lust he could control…
Move over Twilight, these Estruscan wolves have got some serious game. With Kiss of Moonlight the author creates a unique and rich shifter world in just under 150 pages. That’s skill right there! As with some Ellora’s Cave publications you might get all sex and no story (oh the humanity) and this was a nice blending of the two. I liked that Kyle was a bit older than Tamara and enjoyed the tension that brought to both characters. This must be due to what I like to call the George Clooney effect. Code name: Silver fox.
It is a bit tricky to display a character’s vulnerability without having them seem weak or needy. As Kyle plays the role as her ‘rescuer’, the author had a good blend of alpha-heroism without seeming to completely take over and help the ‘little woman out’. It is a strong pet peeve of mine when authors write flaccid heroines that can do nothing but wait with bated breath for a man to come and take care of them. A tried a true method for historical romances but is disjointed in modern and contemporary pieces. I felt this was a nice change of pace from the formulaic erotica pieces and offered a lighter erotic romance for those looking to escape the heat for a bit. I’m already tagging this series on my Ellora’s Cave hot sheet as I can’t wait to read about Cat’s story!
I found this to be a pleasurable read filled with steamy scenes and look forward to the 2nd book in the series. I hear it’s a ménage. Yes please!

This sure sounds like a pleasurable read
And I enjoy a blend of sex with world/character building, I don’t think I’ve ever read a erotica that simply was a string of sex scenes. Perhaps someday will be my first *grin*
The silver fox is Anderson Cooper’s code name!! Don’t be giving it to Clooney!!!
Kyle is RAWR in this book. nom nom.
“a pleasurable read filled with steamy scenes”
That sounds perfect!
You had me lol with the silver fox code name thing. Personally I prefer my heroes to be a bit younger than silver foxy *wink* but I’m not too picky! *grin*
Thank you so much for the great review! I’m so glad you enjoyed Kyle and Tamra’s story.
The Legion men are some of my favorites and Duke and Nic are having a hard time living up to Kyle. But they’re working at it…
@Leontine I thought this was a great blend of paranormal erotica. Plus we all know I heart werewolves
@Mandi Oh. Right. My bad…what should we call George Clooney…Mr. Smokin’ Hot Books?
@ErotRomReader (Janna)technically he isn’t that old but she is in her early 20′s and he has about 10 years on her. He could show her a thing or two, if you know what I mean *wink*
@Stephanie Julian I can’t wait to read book #2, I’ve already been checking Ellora’s Cave daily to see if Duke & Nick’s story is out.
Oh I’m with you on code name: Silver Fox I like my men lightly seasoned.

Fantastic Review!I really like Steph’s work, and I dont say that about a lot of work from EC. Not to mention Steph is awesome in her own right!
@Fiction Vixen my obsession with older men and shape shifters really hit the spot in this ebook. Kyle made me tingle.
@Stella and Audra Price I’m with you. Hard to find good authors sometimes on EC but Stephanie Julian hits the spot! Perfect blend of story and steamy scenes.
I’ve read a lot of praising reviews of this book and I love a good erotic shifter story myself.
You’re totally right too. For an author to build a fantasy world in 150 pages is nothing short of amazing.
Thanks for the awesome review!

@EH I’m such a high maintenance reader, I want everything now! Waiting is agony for me.
I am so far beyond thrilled about all the kind words about Kiss of Moonlight. It just makes my day to have readers enjoy my story. Thank you!!
And Stella, smooches!
Ah, Cat. I adore Cat and she’s got a special part to play in the unfolding storyline of the Etruscans.
Just an aside, if you watch Castle with Nathan Fillion (I adore Nathan Fillion, I mean, like, to the point of obssession), my basis for Cat is the actress who plays his daughter, Molly Quinn.
Cool Stephanie!
I need to check out Castle
Oh good to know Stephanie! I getting the inside scoop. Have to check that out now
@Stephanie Julian thanks for the inside tip! I love Cat.
